Saturday June 22, 2019: Season 2 Episode 10
Drone finds its way to the rocky shores of southern Rhode Island in Jamestown. Jamestown is situated on Conanicut Island in Narragansett Bay. The island is home to two state parks: Beavertail & Fort Wetherill State Park. Beavertail State Park, established in 1980, is located on the southern tip of the island and covers 153 acres. It is home to Beavertail Lighthouse, built in 1856 and standing at 64 ft (20 m). This lighthouse marks the entrance to Narragansett Bay. Fort Wetherill State Park, established in 1972, is located on the southeastern tip and cover 61.5 acres. The main attraction, Fort Wetherill, is a former coast artillery fort used during World War I & II. Built from 1800 to 1941, deactivated after WWII, and then turned over to the state. Both state parks are great for hiking and picnicking. Enjoy!
